Organic extra virgin olive oil from Trikorfo, near Nafpaktos, made from the local koutsourelia variety. The groves lie in the mountains of Aitoloakarnania, at around 400 metres of altitude, where dry farming is done with no fertilisers and no pesticides.
This is an olive oil with character. Dark colour, strong aroma and a fruity taste that finishes with a peppery kick, the bitterness and the pungency balancing the way you expect from a fresh extra virgin. The low acidity and the rich polyphenol profile point to an oil picked at the right moment and pressed quickly afterwards.
The fruit is harvested in mid-October and reaches the mill the same day, so it keeps its freshness and aromas. The result is an organic olive oil that stands out raw, over salad, on bread or with pulses, where the taste of the oil stays in the foreground. It holds its character in cooking too. Litharotopi won the 2025 Silver Taste Award in the medium intensity fruity category.
